The 2010 Investment Industry Association of Canada Conference was held recently held at the Design Exchange in Toronto — attracting the largest number of registrants in the history of the event. Over 250 industry professionals were registered for the full day (and night) of presentations and networking.
Ian Russell, president and CEO of the IIAC welcomed guests and introduced this year’s theme, “Forging ahead in the new financial world”. The day featured presentations by esteemed industry professionals including Tony Fell, retired chairman of RBC Capital Markets, Doug Hyndman, CEO of the Canadian Securities Transition Office, Susan Wolburgh Jenah, president and CEO of IIROC, Stephen Luparello, vice-chairman of FINRA, Joseph Gawronski, chief operating officer of Rosenblatt Securities Inc., and Kevan Cowan, president, TMX Markets and group head of Equities TSX Group.
